Card positions and meanings

Read each card through the role of its fixed position. A card does not mean the same thing in every place in a spread.

Present Core
The overall atmosphere, central condition, or starting point of the reading that currently covers the question.

Crossing Influence
A force crossing the core, commonly experienced as an obstacle, tension, or complicating condition. A favorable card can still represent something beneficial that constrains this particular situation.

Goal & Ideal
The goal or ideal consciously pursued by the querent, or the best possibility not yet realized under the present conditions.

Foundation & Root
Experiences, assumptions, deeper motives, or long-term conditions that have entered reality and form the foundation of the question.

Receding Influence
An influence that has just passed or is losing strength. It remains relevant to the present but is declining in importance.

Approaching Influence
A person, event, or condition about to enter the situation and operate in the near term.

Your Position
The querent’s position, attitude, and behavior in the matter, including their contribution to the situation.

Environment & Others
How nearby people, relationships, and practical circumstances support, limit, or respond to the querent.
